Use your loaf

Still the last knockings of winter here, snow on the ground, minus 6 (real-feel minus 16) that kind of thing, makes you want to stay in and make bread! it’s a very soul enriching excercise making bread by hand, a very traditional kitchen activity and so easy to do using today’s modern ingredients, dried yeast, good quality bread flour, sea salt, olive oil and tap water nothing more, except a little elbow grease, patience and a good hot oven! This loaf I made today is called a bloomer, very traditional in the UK. Next week it’s Easter so that means hot cross buns, stay tuned for a fail-safe recipe….
